there is a 'flame sword' in the neighbor chamber that allows anyone to cast a fireball. Personally I can't remind spots that cannot be accessed w/o help of a mage...

Oh, my...lol!

First time I played I had to gain another level to upgrade fire magic just to do it! I never thought about the sword doing the job, hehe. :P

If I remember well it's on the 6th floor, the "mage's entrance" wher you suposed to cast a fireball. Without a mage you can't reach the "fighter's challenge"
SpoilerShow
Yes, you can. There is a sword, which can be found really close by, which has 10 fireball charges, which can also be used to trigger the secret.

Try to get even scores as much as possible. Odd scores really don't do much, especially not for Will.

No. You don't need it to finish the game.

If he's ranged rogue (throwing or missile weapon) he won't need energy because ranged weapons don't have special attacks.

If he's melee rogue (unarmed or daggers) he just won't be able to do many special attacks without resting/drinking energy potion. After a three or four special attacks he will be limited to special attacks, which are much more less powerful... The game's just more fun with special attacks and it's always cool to shred a monster into pieces with a single Flurry of Slashes.
