See? I'm still reading stuff here.

Anyway, not a big spoiler, just me wanting to learn more in-game. I'd be like "which way am I going? " "Where's the compass?" "There is no compass!" "Oh no....!" and finally, "Hey, here's a compass!! cool!" the experience is definitely the thing for me in this games, winning is secondary.

I need to stop looking...
I'd take one of the four wooden clubs I was carrying and just bash open doors with it.

And sometimes a sword, dagger, worm slice or pieces of corbum to locations that still needed exploring.
^^^ This is very good advice!

If you have room it's very easy to carry around something like a shirt that can be marked for a specific purpose "Don't go that way until later, or I've already been here". The Dungeon Master tunnels were made so that you could get lost even if you had a compass; there are tons of fake walls and several spinners to turn you around and confuse you. Drop a blue shirt on the floor and you can figure it out almost instantly if you've been spun around.

My brother missed the compass in dungeon master but he didn't need it! I on the other hand will be thankful that I can press tab for a map.

Without maps. Yep. I actually did the same until I ran out of food and had to backtrack to get some. I kept getting lost! I mapped it out and had such a GREAT time doing that.
