I've dabbled before, but I intend to learn a lot more in the creation of my sci-fi mod. Here is a first-draft mesh for a rocket launcher that I've been working on. If/when I finish it and then texture it, you are more than welcome to use it in your mod as well (preferably with a slightly different skin, so that it looks different to how it will look in my mod).
Edit: Updated with a shoulder mounted version and barrel mounted firing controls. Much happier with this draft now! Now to UV unwrap - fun, fun, fun!

I'm thinking msyblade is correct. This is a very friendly helpful community. I know I could not afford to pay a tenth of the value of the help I have been given. While there is nothing wrong with desiring recompense for one's labor, sometimes it is more satisfying to do it out of a sense of sharing with the community.
I have been tinkering with the laser gun just to see if I could do it. I didn't post here because I didn't want to commit to something I have no idea if I could accomplish. But so far,
(although it looks more like a standard rifle than a laser gun)
That's some wonderful work!
Well I will be happy to use it, if you finish it!

Had some spare time, so i modeled that lasergun

The model is not exact as the one from your photo, but very near.
Status: Model done, UV-mapping done, occlusion-map done.
Diffuse texture for colors and normal texture will be next.
Model with ambient occlusion texture:

Wow, that looks really nice germanny.
Any chance you could post a picture of your UV wrapping. I would like to see how you approached the unwrapping process.

Of course!
I could spent more time on mapping, its not perfect but good enough.
Today i want to make the diffuse tex, hope to stay awake
*edit*
The UV-elements are placed, scaled and rotated by hand after generation.
Model is built with mirror modifier, so only one side of the gun is worked out.
UV´s are mirrored, too.

Thanks for posting that germanny. I need to learn that mirror modifier. My uv wrapping has a lot more parts because I have two of most items except the barrels and such.

No Prob!
If you work with mirror modifier, use the 'clipping' function.
Make shure the mirror axis is exact at the models origin point - and as best, both on coordinate 0 at mirror direction (x-y-z).
You can change the dir within the mirror modifiers panel.
The UV-coordinates are automatically mirrored.
A quick diffuse and specular texture applied:
