There are tricks to get around the randomized walls & floor drains. I have a couple maps with wrapping hallways. It's doable.

Ya know, I'd forgotten that Neikun released a pack of walls so, technically, you could actually just place them and then you wouldn't have to worry about them being random.Isaac wrote:There are tricks to get around the randomized walls & floor drains. Those are some good ideas. I'm finishing up the basic layouts this weekend then I'm going to start learning how to script some traps. Spinners are definitely on the list. I'm also going through the asset pack to see how to remake items and monsters, and what kinds of effects I can use (magic, special attacks, etc.). I hope to start publishing some of this in the next few weeks so you can take a look and make suggestions.Sol_HSA wrote:You could kinda fake that by teleporting the player to a similar corridor on the other side of the map.. this will be obvious if the player drops items, though (and the random wall texturing will also play a part)..FlynnArrowstarr wrote:It just fits. I was a little worried that the maze would be wraparound, but the editor doesn't do that. Maybe something else for the next version of the editor; a wraparound toggle to make the dungeons seem larger.
Sounds great...I'm looking forward to it!FlynnArrowstarr wrote:Just a quick update. After a bit of distractions (vacation, Skyrim, a ton of new games from GOG and Steam, more Skyrim) I'm back to working on Moo. I've finished outlining six maps so far:
* Ancient Temple of Moo
* Cathedral of Carnage
* The Maze From Hell
* Slithercult Stronghold
* Halls of Insanity
* The Magic Cavern
I'm planning one more map outline, then I'll upload the project files somewhere where people can take a look and make suggestions - hopefully that will happen this weekend. The initial plan is for there to be six levels total, with The Maze From Hell acting as a hidden bonus level.
