Thanks John.
Grimrock is 2.0.1.19
The problem might lie with my setup - I have two computers running a single monitor, mouse and keyboard through a Rextron KVM switch.
Second, the USB keyboard I bought specially to work with the switch is an E-Blue - a bit of a cheapy, I think. It's very flaky.
(Previously, when I used one PC at a time, I had PS2 mice and keyboards on both machines, and just shifted the monitor cable)

So maybe the keyboard is 'mispronouncing' the command (set at 192 for tilde)
(Incidentally, the tilde should activate when the ' key is hit in conjunction with Shift, shouldn't it? Here - I'll try it. Damn! This mickeymouse keyboard seems to be behaving right now. ~ there's the tilde. it works.
But Shift + ` isn't getting me the console in-game.
What would I enter in the config to get say, F12 as the activator? The keyboard is US.
Cheers
Ian

So---to restate my earlier question:

Given that consolekey=192 gets the tilde key (in an obedient system), what do I need to set 'consolekey=' to in order to activate the console by hitting the F12 key (on a US keyboard)? Or maybe F9 or F10?

See, I'm trying to simplify the system so that I can call up the console with a 'single-purpose' key, ie, one that doesn't have a dual function.

Thanks ;)
