Grimrock

I am on level 8, however I have no access to anything except the northernmost part of the level. There are three doors that I can see:

I see an Iron gate with a nearby wall-text saying "vault of the dismantler;" there's a swith on the wall on the other side but I can't find any way in.

I see an iron gate and past it a bunch of lightning balls flying by and a spider walking around. I can't find a way to open this.

I see an iron door with a keyhole (i don't hav ehte key) in the wall next to it. Behind me when facing hte gate is a monument with 4 of the hooded ghosts.

My only other options are to go down to level 9 or back up to level 7. Please help!

wasn't there a note nearby? maybe it holds a hint

I have no idea! I've already been down to level 11 and if i picke dup a note it's mixed in with all the rest

I'm pretty sure you would recall if you did since it's not some text. It's a picture.

Here's why i had so much trouble! That picture isn't accurate, there are straight lines when they should be bent on the bottom of it

On the contrary. The picture is very accurate. All you have to do is find a match.

It is a very accurate map of a section of level 7, a big hint
