Grimrock

I have two rocks, all 3 torches are lit. I'm standing one square away north from the torch that is also next to the closed gate with the armor. Am I standing in the right spot?

Also, what means throwing: 1. equipping the stone in my righ hand and right clicking it (like a shuriken)? or 2. Choosing it from the inventory and click the upper part of the screen.

Like a shuriken. The east rock should land all the way at the end in the shadows. I used a skull to throw north so I don't know if it makes a difference if you throw or attack-throw the north object.

Your position is wrong. Look at the image I posted and stand on that spot. If you're standing directly in front of the portal, go east, east, north and then throw.
