I'll also tell you that when you beat the game, you have one or two golden keys left over (having found all the epic items, secrets, and treasures), which means there are extra keys.
hmm, same for me, don't pay attention to gold keys usually, but the fact it has happend with me. I didn't have any left for the sewers, all the others ones were used where they meant to i think, and the few others gold keys i got later on were also used right the right way (for chests with a golden lock). Nenertherlees, it's no more a problem now thanks to the item i gave at pirates bastion. As for your 'extra keys', perharps you obtained the same way as me, by giving some stuff at PB..
DonEmilio wrote: Mon Jul 28, 2025 11:26 am Obanyon is a secret level and is not part of the story, but if you beat it, you get some good items. I'll also warn you (so you don't suffer there) that it's the only level where you have to discover a couple of secrets in order to beat it. If you get stuck in Obanyon, take a good look at the floor and walls and use the secret detector.
I know i know ;) i played the game before, it's just i wasn't able to finished it because my saves always crashed near the end. Back then, i used the 20_1r version i think.

i finally opted to xaffi first, but one thing is driving me crazy. I really don't think it's normal. In the Endless corridor, you have to get the master xaafi key in a light fixed to a wall.

spoilers @ emilio, spoilers balise is used, pls click to reveal the picture :D ;)

Anyway, the problem now - when i pick that key from the light, it sometimes makes a 'click'; when it does happen, it changes 2 things:

- some walls nearby are removed (with a lock behind). But more importantly, another wall is removed somewhere, with a switch (actually you have to find and press 3 buttons overall).
- The other thing is that i'am unable to put the key (or any other items for that matter) back into the light.

Now the (weird) thing is that this is not always the same, despite doing exactly the same stuff: same moves, sames actions - I reloaded several times to make sure.

Sometime, when I take the master key out of the light, there's just no sound made (no ' click ').

The consequences are as follow:

- no walls removed (absolutely none).
- i'am able to put any items back into the light.. (i mean it has no purpose in itself, but this just to describe the differences).

I'm really confused now. I still have an old plan (edited) with the 3 switches mentionned.

I wonder why it sometime clicks, why sometimes it doesn't, despite doing exactly the same stuff. And what the point of the 3 buttons btw ? Now i'm not sure anymore.. :?

Maybe i shoud contact BG, but it's been years.. :?

There is a bug where sometimes when you pick up the key, a series of events and battles occur, and other times they don't. The bug is insignificant because you don't get stuck and no secrets or items are lost; the result is the same (picking up the key). Bongobeat didn't know how to fix it (the condition causing the bug could not be determined), and since the bug is harmless, it stayed that way. Another player (olavimuff) came to the conclusion that the bug occurred when the battles and endless run were resolved too quickly. You can read the comments on this video where the issue is discussed xD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OM7jDG ... GTYFwoEBRu

Also in the V204R version taking the key of the lamp counted as a secret, but if the bug happened you could take the key but taking it did not count as a secret (which happened to me in my first full game), I was missing only two secrets, the secret detector showed me that there was a secret behind the lamp, I had already passed the whole game, and at that time I did not know how to use the console (something as simple as going through the wall to see what was behind it, I didn't know how to do it), I thought there was really a secret behind that wall, I went crazy investigating the endless corridor for nothing :D If I were Bongo I would eliminate those events in the corridor after taking the key and if anything to compensate harden the fights, better something simpler than something buggy (that's my motto).

In the V206R version, taking the key no longer counts as a secret in any case to prevent this from happening.

And by the way, I don't know what's wrong with the forum, but it fails every few days, sometimes writing a reply is an odyssey.

interesting. Tks for the enlightning (and the link). I for sure never were aware of that bug.

So should I continue no matter what ? The removables walls & the 3 buttons are pointless here ? I just take the master key and it's all good ?

Walls and those buttons don't matter.

well it does changes (minor) things; when the 'click'works somehow (after taking the key), the corridor becomes 'locked' ..

Image

you then have to use the master key in one or (2 ) lock and by doing this very action, it removes the wall with the 1st button behind (at ' 1 'in the other map). You then have to search the others 2 buttons which, once pressed, remove the wall at the entrance (you can exit the corridor afterwards).

Another thing is that the removable walls contains enemies (mages), and since i like to give these guys a ride for their money, i chose the 'click' path :)

But the bug itself is very .. disconcerting. I'm trying to figure what cause the 'no click' thing, but it seems a bit random, i'm getting mad at it actually..

i think i'm getting mad, put simply

One thing for sure is that if you go straight to the key once in the corridor, you get the 'click' (remove walls & stuff) everytime. Maybe going backwards at some point breaks something, but it"s just a guess, i guess :?
