I have some tutorials up now:

Setting up a spectral blob blocking puzzle - How to open a door (or trigger an event) when the player blocks the blob from entering the receptor.
Framerate pitfalls and solutions - Common mistakes that can drop your framerate, and how to get around them.
Basic Scripting (Part 1) - How to spawn items, shake the camera, call sounds, and destroy objects from a lua script.
Basic Scripting (Part 2) - How to spawn items, shake the camera, call sounds, and destroy objects from a lua script.

Hope somebody finds them useful. I'll be adding more later on.

Just pressed play on my music, just pressed pause on my music. haha

You have a bit of clipping with mic volumes.
Hey there was an apology in video.
It's like you knew, man. It's like you knew.
Thanks for sharing! =D

Thanks, guys. That first video is the worst, aurally. I'll probably remake it at some point.

I've noticed that the video is very hard to make out details if watched at 480 on YouTube. Part of that is because it appears to be windowboxed; there is an unnecessary black box all around the video, making it smaller than it needs to be. How did you capture it - camtasia? Maybe there is a way to adjust settings for future videos to improve that aspect (no need to trash the current ones though, most people can watch in HD)

Yeah, I have them set for HD (only up to 720), but I definitely want to tweak things for the next uploads. I'm using FRAPS and then converting and uploading with Windoze Live Movie Maker. I wound up having to upload them twice because I stupidly let Youtube "optimize" the videos to make them truly full screen, but then they diminished the quality to 480(!). So having to do them all twice (including editing because I hadn't saved the edited versions), plus making Thanksgiving dinner all day yesterday kinda sucked up my time to really dig deeper into the software.

I definitely need a mic that doesn't suck, though.

Any tips/tricks I can get, I'd greatly appreciate! If these aren't useful to anyone, I don't want to waste any more time on them. :)

I'm guessing a lot of people will find them very useful, they've been practically begging me for more videos but I'm not really inclined to do any more at this point, maybe in the future.

[video format details, sent in PM now]

But anyway, if all that is too much bother (and it may be!), I really wouldn't worry much about, they're okay as is. I guess I'm mostly thinking of future ones.

And should we move to PM? It wasn't my intention to threadjack. :)
