Yeah, if you like the feeling of uncertainty and you don't mind getting lost sometimes or if you love to draw your own maps then I suggest you try the old school mode for your first run. That's how these games used to be played.

I have bought a new book of graph paper and a pencil sharpener, just for LOG.
I want to play it the same way as I did Dungeon master, I think you get lots more fun out of making you own maps.
