Well, I hope devs included some special steam achievment for you: "Brute-force spell researcher"
Frankly, I hope I find all spells on scrolls. But you may find some easter-eggs or bonus spells this way...

There are 511 total possible spell combinations with 1-9 runes. You have to take into consideration that the order in which you activate the runes doesn't matter. Thit fact eliminates a lot of combinations.
4 and 5 runes spells have the most possible combinations (126 each). 3 and 6 runes spells have 84 each, 7 and 2 runes spells 36 each, 8 and 1 runes spells 9 each, and a spell using all 9 runes has obvously only 1 combination.

Makes a total of 9+36+84+126+126+84+36+9+1 = 511

P.S.S. Example with 5 runes for those guys who're interested in the calculation:
Having a spell with 5 runes means, there are 9 possible options for the first rune, 8 for the second, 7 for the third, 6 for the fourth and 5 for the fifth, making a total of 9*8*7*6*5 = 15120 spells with 5 runes.
BUT: As the order of the runes doesn't matter, the total spell number has to be divided by the total possible combinations of 5 runes, which would be 5*4*3*2*1 = 120.
So the correct number of spells using 5 runes is 15120 / 120 = 126.
