And it's absolutely true! I think Duncan is aware of this at our personal correspondence on the Nexus forum.

Thanks to you I have seen how difficult it was to find your way in Finisterrae. it's nearly impossible for a modder to evaluate the true difficulty of his mod, and unfortunately only a few players post theirs feelings...
Player_library can help now, I hope so, but Finisterrae remains difficult because solving some puzzles independently is not enough to succeed without the understanding of the story, as you know now :D

Hey! Your mod is a bit strange (ie original) but interesting for sure, I visited few areas but completed none of them :D I think I'm a bit lost in fact :)
Now I have 3 questions !

Where can I find the container so I can make some potions (I've got plenty plants but they are useless atm..)
What is the purpose of the clay tiles? Do I need them?
I found a secret area in the Octaedron dungeon but there's a door blocking the way?

Finisterrae is an open world, so you can go here and there, pick up some things, kill some monsters, but after that, it's normal to be lost because you haven't discover what to do... SO, here is a short guide:
1. First, go to Under the Cape (near the landing place, you can enter it only by night). There you will find the explanations you need, how to use the claytiles, what to do, and a magic book (in version 2 only) to help you to find your way... and also a mortar. :D
2. Take time to read the texts you find: some are only "historical" (but useful to understand the goals of this game), but others give you missions to perform and paths to follow
3. If in spite of that, you are still lost, read the walkthrough I add on Nexus.
For Octaedron, you have two entries, search the second one.

Hi Duncan I am playing version 2.1 of the MOD (great up to now) but have a problem, I got the book of magic from Under the Cape and when I try to open it
the game crashes immediately with the following:

Loading save game C:\Users\William\Documents/Almost Human/Legend of Grimrock 2/autosave.sav
Loading dungeon Finisterrae by Duncan
Game loaded

Well... this is clearly linked with the image format. On iMac with os x.10.8, i have tested the opening of the book in all choices given in the options (Grimrock menu) and it works in all cases after saving/load process.
Next week I will make tests on PC. Try to change options to high if they are not now. I hope I can find a better answer in a few days. :?:

"A clue here please :| (is it relative to the '5up, 4down, 1down' scroll)": ...................................... Yes! Feel free to try different solutions and think to reinitialize if you want to use the scroll.

"How do I deactivate these magic walls - there are few of them.. ": ...................for now, my better answer is : have you killed some wizard near by? If yes, search his papers. And give a look to the missions page in the Magic Book (click on the tree seal)

The walkthrough gives mainly directions, not complete solutions, sorry.

Sorry, I missed this! To kill this guy, you need to be about level 8 or very very fast...
Try to block him in the cave near his room (East). Don't let him go West!! Use bombs and spells to frozen him and strike him with your best weapons when he can't move. He will die rather quickly if you do so.
