Diarmuid wrote:No difference really, apart the direction from which you room can be entered, which you can take into account when planning the layout of your room. For example room 12 is entered from the western wall (left). There also a consideration of where in the dungeon the room is, for things like balancing monsters for example - players will have more exp at room 12 than room 3. I don't know how this was adjusted and balanced the first time around, so maybe spiderfighter can give some clues here (I just thought now about that aspect of things).
Sorry old chaps, but my horseless carriage had an emergent fit and I could not procure a reliable craftsman near my estate in short order. Bah. Wife has me watching Downton Abbey. I had sudden car troubles and had to go out of town to get it fixed.
Honestly Diarmuid, we just kind of took care of balancing as we went along. As I wasn't part of the actual testing of the finished version, I'm not sure if there was any final tweaking done (perhaps JW or Skuggas can shed some light).
Thanks for taking care of our new guests in my stead - erm...absence. I'll add you guys to the list, and say welcome aboard!

Ok, I know I will regret this in 5 minutes, but the temptation to do a room even if I'm so short in time is too much
But please, a room towards the end of this would be better

I think designers in the ORRR mostly played through the entire dungeon up to their own room before adding their own room, so they got a good sense of what the characters had and what level they would be by the time they got to their own room. Balancing was really down to the designers themselves, but then also any playtesting feedback. If playtesters (including the other designers) found a room too hard, puzzle too illogical or had any other problems with the design (as well as tech) then I think this came out during playtesting and the minor teaks to stats were easy to make.

This approach will work, provided we go in order. What do you guys all think?

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

And you may regret it, but we won't, and neither will our future players. Would you like the final room, good sir?

Cheers for the beholder!
Spider, the "rooms" available a the beginning of the thread is I think misleading in that it gives the impression that we are still missing a lot of designers.
16 is taken by Leki, 24 by Xanathar. Apart from that, why don't we assign rooms to those who didn't have a preference?
Suggestion:
Room 1 - rLOVEution87 (He asked for earlier in the dungeon)
Room 15 - Kuningas(To fill in some blanks in the middle)
Room 17 - Merethif (To fill in some blanks in the middle)
Room 20 - Skuggs (To fill in some blanks in the middle)
Room 22 - Flatline (He asked for later in the dungeon)
That way, the only missing rooms will be: 11, 14, 18, 21 & 23. We just miss 5 people, yay!

I definitely think the sign up sheet first page should be organized by room number for better vacancy clarity.
Room 1: name
Room 2: name
Room 3: name
ect.
