Grimrock

First of all let me express my gratitude the the bold developers who revived this genre 20+ years after Eye of The Beholder 2, which in my opinion stands as one of the top RPGs (I prefer this label to dungeon crawlers) ever. So 20+ after Legend of Darkmoon we have Legend of Grimrock! Hope that this legend will stand up well beside the old one, and why not surpass it.
Now my questions has to do with the system requirements of the game. I have a 5 years old laptop with an intel core 2 duo processor at 2 GHz which supports analysis that could go up to 1920x1200 (pretty impressive for a 15,4 inhces netwbook monitor). However it has an ATI Mobility FireGL V5200 graphics controller with only 256 MB of discrete video memory. I see that the system requirements you have just released mention a 512 MB graphics card as a minimum requirement. Though I remember other games also that imposed a 512 mb graphics card minimum requirement and run well on my computer. So I was wondering whether a possibility that my system could run this game as well exist (even in smaller resolutions, i don't care)? Pretty please answer my question!

By the way the compatibility test run successfully on my system as well.

Well, I dont know how full game will run, but HW test demo run quite nicely on my 256 MB Radeon HD 2600 Pro.

As I have said, the demo run on my system too. The question is what about the full game. Petri, do you have any hint on this?

Well, It looks I will have to take a little risk and try it to run on 256 MB graphics .

You can try lowering texture resolution in graphics settings but 256 MB is indeed quite limited and not officially supported. I'm interested to know how it goes

Both my Mac as well as my PC also only have 256MB.

512MB is still a lot if you're more notebook oriented. I hope it will run by lowering some texture resolution. Playing games like Dragon Age 2 or Portal 2 wasn't a problem on both systems.

Yeah notebooks are far less powerful, my notebook wouldn't run it very well. My main PC on the other hand has a 1gb graphics card, which is 4 or so years old, but it's ample for LoG.

Well, the CPUs and GPUs are decent enough performance and feature wise but 512MB just wasn't common 1.5 years ago, even in MacBook Pros. So if you're not only looking at the most up to date notebooks, it for sure wouldn't hurt officially supporting 256MB too.
