Windows / OS X

Hi,

if i now buy the Windows version, will i later on get the OS X version (once it is ready) for free or do i have to buy the game twice?

If this is a cross release, which i strongly hope, on which sales platform will i be able to get both versions without paying twice?

Is there also a DRM free option beside of Steam with Steamplay?

Will the save games be interchangeable?

Thanks in advance

We don't know the details of the Mac version yet. It depends on what distributor we'll use for the Mac version. I think at least PC and Mac have been bundled together in Steam previously so it's possible but we can't promise it at the moment.

Besides Steam you can also buy a standalone version from GOG.

Saves games are stored in Documents folder and interchangeable between the Steam, GOG and direct purchase versions.

The way i understand Steam is that with Steamplay they don't charge you for a game which is available for both platforms.

Now what i want to know is if there will be a downloadable version apart from Steam which you distribute via your own site or via a common portal, will i get the Mac version as well or do you intend to let people pay twice? If a portal only supports one format than it's clear that you won't be able to do this but there also exist stores where there aren't technical restrictions and it's up to the developer, same with your site. And for such options, do you intend to charge twice or will a customer who once bought the Windows version ater on get the OS X version for free?

I feel a bit weird asking all this as most of the software i bought since years simply is crossy and looking at other games the developers don't seem to have a problem answering this question upfront at all, even if production hasn't even started. I would appreciate if you could give a clear statement regarding this subject.

Thanks again

Our intention is not to charge twice but we simply don't know the answer to your question because we don't know how other versions will be distributed yet, sorry.

Okay, if it's your intention not to charge twice then i can preorder, otherwise it wouldn't have made sense. And at least a distribution via your site shouldn't cause any problems.

I'm really surprised that there isn't a clear statement from you regarding this subject on the frontpage. For the last games i bought, Schafer's upcoming adventure or Fargo's Wasteland 2 the productions hadn't even started and it was clear already which platforms you'll get.

Any chance that GOG will offer the Mac version as well?

In the spirit of more money for the devs, i pre ordered the game via The Humble Store.

I really would appreciate if you at some point offer DRM free versions (PC,Mac) for those who ordered this way too.

We agree with you and we'd like to do this if at all possible - we are looking into it.
