As far as I know, no boxed copies will be on sale. You won't have to use Steam if you don't want, because you can buy the game on GOG.

Or you can also buy directly from us because you'll get both the standalone version and a steam key =)

boxed copies usually mean studios need a publisher, as they handle that kind of thing, (but wasteland 2 and Double Fine adventures will have boxed copies) but then again some of the money raised will have to go towards making the boxes and content

I would rather not see LoG in publisher hands, so it doesn't bother me in the slightest not having a boxed copies, and eve if there were boxed copies, many stores won't sell it

and in the UK at least, GAME / GAMESTATION has filed for been put into administration and about 300 stores have been closed with many others may go out of business soon, unless a buyer can be found, yes there is Amazon, and a few other online retailers, but to be honest, unless the game is well known, I doubt it will really sell any better. I think many would buy it from steam or get the direct download from GOG or the devs, boxed copies I don't think will sell as well. so to me not worth it

Well, boxed copies is the only true way to buy games. And game makers could sell boxed copies directly without publisher. Also I hate steam because you don't really own your games, you just rent them. But I guess I'll have to settle with the direct download option. Thanks!

YES!

For the record: I also need a box for my shelf - download is for kids and steam is for pussies!

don't know whay you said that? about not owning your games on steam, I have many games on steam and never had a problem, but its annoying when publishers put extra DRM on the game, that is when it starts to go wrong. besides, with games these days, you buy a license to use the game, not the game itself. and besides, if steam ever did go out of business they said that the games you bought will still be available for you to play

so again, I don't see what your problem is

Well on the bright side, you get so much cool artwork with this you could easily print some off, grab a DVD case, and make your own box! :P

Steam is a DRM. And you're just lucky if you've never had problems with steam. So many times "steam servers are busy" or "game is unavaiable" Also if you want to install steam games to a computer with no internet connection, not gonna happen.
