10 hours? Ha-ha, good one!

Post by Alaric »

I think at some point people (perhaps even the developers) were saying that it will take 10 hours to beat the game.

Ha!

I just entered level 8, and according to Steam, I've played for 25.8 hours. Now, I imagine a few hours can be written off for my two unsuccessful beginnings - never got past level 3 either time. And I must have spent about an hour at party creation screen. Still , even if I only played for 20 hours - that a lot of hours to only get to about 2/3 of the dungeon. Both my fighters and my mage are level 10, while my rogue is level 11. I like to think that I have found all the secrets, notes, armor and skulls so far, but who knows.

Either way, thank you developers for all the fun I'm having. I hardly realized how much I missed this genre.

The developer said he could finish it 10 hours but he said he knows all of the puzzles locations. I think he was basically saying it would take you AT LEAST 10 hours to finish the game. I am doing a let's play of the game. I think I am about 6 hours into it and I am in the middle of level 4.

18 hours here, on level 11 (i have backtracked a lot for the fighters challenge, and i like to look for a lot of secrets) my friend has 20 hours, and he's on level 8, so personally for me, i think I'm going to be done at 22-23 hours, but of course I'm replaying it so altogether I'm going to be getting at least 40 hours out of it, (probably more), £8 for 40 hours of an amazing experience? can't do better if you ask me.

It all depends on your game style. I have 8 hours on Steam and 4 hours of real gameplay and I'm at floor 3. I just love to get locked inside a room and sort out all the junk, check maps, take a look at the character sheets or just write a brief story of the party members.

Finished it in 15,5 hours on hard and I looked at every single wall and got stuck a few times. Found all notes from that guy, 5 skulls, 5 treasures, 8 iron doors and 53 secrets. I guess I gained speed from killing stuff efficiently. I always try to do stuff as fast as I can and I am SO glad it's played in real time so I don't get bored. I love the change of pace. One minute scratching my head, wondering what the hell "Game's Bane" means and the next maxing my APM in battles (actions-per-minute for the non Starcraft-nerds).

EDIT: That is from the statistics tab, not steam-hours.

10 hours sounds like a minimum (better to undersell the play time so no one feels ripped off). I beat it in 12 hours with 32/71 secrets, completely skipping the Fighter's Challenge and the Hall of the Disassembler.

In game timer for some reason seems really slow/low. I could swear I have quite a few more hours into this game then what it shows.

Actually someone beat the game in 8h24mins of game time, in my end game stats thread. I guess it's very possible. 25 hours seems excessive to me. You must be looking for every single possible secret and not taking any hints.

The game timer is actual in-game time. If you play for two hours and die without saving, your last save won't show those two hours.

That explains why I only got 15 hours in the end. I saved and reloaded a TON :( Glad my last post didn't turn out to be as braggy as I first feared, but sad that I wasn't as fast as I thought.
