Making elevations work outdoors

Post by MvBuren »

I am new to this and want to try making a simple map in which one climbs on a mountain. I want to use outdoor tiles, of course, but when I add elevations to forest floor tiles I get blank space in between; I've tried placing "beach walls" to bridge this gap, but that doesn't seem to be the right solution. I also can't get seem ladders to work outdoors. Outdoor elevations don't seem to be covered in any of the tutorials I can find, but they certainly exist in the base game, so I assume that it must be possible to arrange. Can anyone point me to useful instructions on making a climbable hill?

Yes, for elevations you need to place the forest_elevation_edge pieces manually. Its tedious, but not so bad to place them all and raise them at the same time. The ladder issue might be ceiling height. Did you raise the ceiling height as you made the elevations?
