Playing on normal with Human Fighter Mino Fighter Mino Rogue and Insect mage

My mages food bar -never- decreases I'm now level 7 and his hunger is where it started, I tried giving him food and that food went down like normal - to where his hunger bar was when he started the game, never lower

Insectoid + Diviner's Cloak + Brace of Fortitude seems to make it so he never needs to eat despite the Bracers adding to food consumption. Which is funny, because he's my packmule for food.

Mage has no special gear, only lvl 4
