Hi,

I want to make a big zarchton, like 2x the size of a zarchton, but I don't know how to do that. Plus the animations.

Is there someone interested who wan't to do that for me?
Or is here some tutorials, about making that into blender and how to export the final model and the animation files?

Part 13 of Skuggasveinn's editor tutorials demonstrates making Grimrock-suitable animations in Blender. However, the pipeline he uses for importing/exporting models and animations is obsolete; just use the Blender plugin.

humm, does someone have a copy of the grimrock animation converter executable? (grimAnimConverter.exe)

The link I found on Prozails thread is no more working

yeah, like minmay said, blender+bitcpy plugin. Just use an older version of blender (I use 2.71) and you can save the animations and models directly out.

If you just want to make him bigger you can scale the armature, this will mess up the distance of animations and you need to modify every move animation so the monster ends up in the rest pose in the middle on the next square, or the correct square for his leap attack.
Idle and attack animations that don't move the monster from one square to another can simply be scaled and saved, same goes for turns on the square.

at some point I did take the twigroot and scaled it (called it an Ent and gave it crappy eyes) , fixed his move distance etc, so I know this a valid way of doing this.

kind regards.

Wasn't there an animation converter tool just for scaling LoG 1 animations?
(...and did didn't that get folded into the GMT?)

thanks for your replies

Well, I asked myself if you can just enlarge the monster then re-use the old animations. I give it a try, but that did'nt work. Well I did not think to enlarge anything else than the model.

Actually I ve only tryed to animate a laser turret, very basic stuff to start, one rotation when "arming itself", first it was unsuccesful, I encoutered some troubles doing it. I tryed to follow the tutorial step by step, but I had an error when exporting the animations, I certainly do something wrong, well it's difficult to understand the english for me.

Also, I followed another tutorial, that show to only make a movement of the model while recording the movement on another frame (translation or rotation) in the hum, "animation frame thing?", then The animation worked and I did not have any error. I don't know what's the difference between the 2 methods, in this one there wasn't any armature added.

Anyway, I give it a rest for the moment. And about my giant zarchton, it will wait, because I got some big re-optimisation to do actually.
To Skuggasveinn
That's a nice ent! I like it!
