to start solo and add the missing party member by reviving the corpses of other adventurers you find around the dungeon? like in eye of the beholder?

Hmm my gut feeling tells me it "should be possible" as long as you max it out to 4 characters. I mean all that would need to be accomplished is "hiding" the other 3 UI frames and when you "res" (like you did with toorum) it should "unhide" one of the UI elements and give that new character the stats/skills/name etc of the character you are supposedly resurrecting.

Now I didn't write the code (although I did write plenty of code in my lifetime), but just quick thinking about how the game works... that should be doable... if you want more than 4 however you would have to do a tad more work and depending on how the code is written it could be anything from relativly straightforward to a nightmare.

i would like to know from the devs if there's a chance to do such things with the current engine...

I suspect with talented modding many things are possible.
