Spiders still see you, if you get close enough. I'm not sure about other mobs...

it seems to only work sometimes. I've had flying bugs and ice lizards see me. then I stopped using it.

I'm pretty sure they still see you if you're holding a torchlight.

I used invisibility extensively in my solo mage playthrough so here's some tips on how it works:

- Any enemy directly next to you will still see you (not diagonally though)
- They will try to follow you when they see you so will move into the square they saw you in last. That means you have to more more than one square away after being spotted or it will seem like they can still see you.
- Some very fast enemies can keep up with you making it very hard to get away once seen
- Light sources can still reveal your location so you should remove any torches. I'm not sure about magical lights but I'm fairly certainly I've managed to hide while still having a magical light source active on multiple occasions. You may want to cast darkness just to be sure though.
- There is one enemy type that can see you and is not fooled by the spell (not any of the ones mentioned so far in this thread)

Thanks, I needed that info.
Makes darkness feel pretty worthless though...
