Grimrock

Hey, this is my first post. I started playing today and am really enjoying it. I found something on floor 4, Time and Tide that caught my eye. On that 3rd hole in the beginning of the area, there's this emblem on the wall of the pit. You can see it in this picture. I don't recall seeing it anywhere else. Is there any significance to it? It's got me intrigued.

Also, sorry if this has been answered, I tried searching for it but couldn't find it anywhere.

I suspect it's just the texture for non-trapdoor pits. Will keep an eye out...

It's just a texture mirroring artifact. I mirror textures on the objects to save texture space and memory.
