level 9 temple help

I have gotten to the room in the fire temple with the 3 statues and teleporters
I have the ornate key, but am stuck inside the statue/ teleporter chamber and can't find where to use the key. what should i be doing with the key/doing next?
been stuck for half an hour on this, any help is greatly appreciated, even if its only a hint... thank you in advance.

Small hint,
Have you found the scroll?
Extra hint,
Read the descriptions near each teleporter
Big hint,
each description has a number in it if you think about it

The scroll had 3, 2, 1, 3 or something like that. Each teleporter had a saying, one with 1 line, another with 2 lines, and the last with 3 lines, i figured the number of lines represnted the number on the scroll, so thats the order i used the teleporters and how i got the ornate key. are you saying these items have further use then this?

the scroll has no use other then as a hint to the puzzle

Oh sorry I thought that's where you were stuck, erm you are done with that area then. Have you managed to get down the corridor that seems to be endless? If not that's where you need to go next.
And the snake scroll should help you with that, if you don't have the scroll then, hmm have you seen all those nice hanging banners everywhere?

oh, looks like i made a dumb mistake
i didn't see the button which reopened the door to the statue room and couldn't work out how to get out...
thanks anyway
