Level 9 Book of Infinite Wisdom problem

Hi,
I'm nearly the center of the 9th lvl, recently picked up Book of Infinite Wisdom. I didn't know what to do so I checked some walkthrough and everywhere is said that after picking up this book, walls to my right and left should open but nothing happens. Anyone got the same problem or have a solution?

Here, this should help.
The cubby-hole that you found the book on is 1 of 3. On the map, the 'cubby-holes' are all on the same square, just on different sides. 3 of the sides have an item, the one you found last having the book on it. All 3 sides needs to have the item picked up and left empty, for it to open and let you through to the 4th side and the rest of the floor.

This is my second run ,I pick up the book of wisdom on level 9 and nothing opens up,any ideas?

I got thru , I did not pick up the scroll before,massive airhead attack.thanks again.
