In level 9 when I start going down the corridor I some how end up back in the room I started in. Also at the X I marked I can see the wall change slightly, and some times I'll get stuck in an infinite loop of corridor with no way to get out of it. Any ideas? I really like the game and don't want to quit because of this.

It's a puzzle. And if you can't figure it out, this is the answer.
Where the X is, when you move to the square right below it, the Game 'teleports' you and turns you around but doesn't give any indication unless your paying attention to the walls, or the map. When you see the wall change slightly, it makes you have been turned around. It only happens in 2 spots tho. The square below the X, and the in the same spot to the right. Basicly, look at the Map after moving every square, or when you notice the walls suddenly changing, turn around and continue onward.

this thread made me laugh - why assume it's a glitch?!?!

This is not a bug, this is a feature™
Note : I discovered that this "bug" was actually a "feature" when I decided to report the bug. For this, I did a
video of it with FRAPS, and I tried to draw a map of it (since I play in "old school" mode, I don't have generated fancy maps like yours

). But when drawing the map, I noticed that many "glitches" were happening, and that they were all on the same "line". So after a few dozen of them, I lost count of them, and decided to go back to the start to restart counting from zero.
And since It's an infinite loop, well... I've given up the drawing of my map pretty quickly, and found the solution of that puzzle

Moved to gameplay hints.
One way of figuring out what's going on is to drop items in that tunnel.

Hi.
This kind of bug exists in other older games as well. It is literally unavoidable, because it basically roots in the architecture and engine of the game. The more complex a game gets, the more likely this kind of bug appears - and then often several times within a logical unit within the game/ program, like with lvl 9 of LoG.
Generations of programmers and IT-experts have tried to get rid of this "natural failure of systems"; but truth it: You cannot change it. It is just the mere result of the massive amount of I/Os coded in different programming languages interacting with each other and trying to inter-operate as much as possible. I would like to consider them just some kind of "collateral damage".
In bigger games like Skyrim, FPS, MMOs, or games with huge landscapes or challenging graphics you won't recognize this kind of bug, because they most often hide in graphical artifacts or some weird effect like flying horses (as within in Skyrim); these things don't have a real effect on your personal gameplay. But in games like LoG which obey to stiff rules of movement and actions it is more likely that you will face these bugs sooner or later. And there is no way around it. So you need to stick and live with it.
At least it would be a bad move neglecting an overall 99,9% solid game, only because this bug appears twice on a single level of this whole dungeon - especially since you can solve the situation by simply turning 180° at the proper locations. And there you go ... You may proceed with the game.
And if you - by now - have not realized that all I write here is totally bogus, then, YES, THEN you are allowed to de-install the game and turn your back on it ... Otherwise consider it as what it really is: a small puzzle to drive you mad ...
All the best!
Liam

I found this quite easy as I was playing on Old School mode and actually using a compass, which suddenly span round!

It's not a bug. It's intentional. It's a puzzle.

Sense of humour? What's that?
