Dungeon Sharing

Post by magian »

Ahead of the release of the Grimrock editor, I have created a site to share user-created dungeons. Anyone is welcome to submit their dungeons. I will be promoting the site and the user content on G+.

Something like this seems certainly handy, rather than just having a mess of mediafire links and mod topics.

Something cleaner and more organized.

However, after looking at the site, what's the formatting process in ordering the uploads?
It's a blog that other people can contribute too.

Will this just be another mess?

Does the search function work well in this format?
I see a "details" box, but no tag box.

If anything, it's more organized and easier to find things with than just posting them on the forum
I do suggest, though, adding a separate "tags" box, as well as picture submission. Pictures are worth a thousand words, and people searching for something would be drawn to pictures.

I plan to have it fully searchable. Each submission will get it's own blog entry and the files will be hosted out of my Google Drive space, so no lame free download (i.e. Mediafire, Rapidshare, etc.) site hassles. Drive (which I have extra capacity that I pay for) can be used to publicly host files without even the need for a Google account for the downloader.

For the dungeon submission form I'd suggest a bigger and more freeform field for the authors. Some people will prefer to post as their nick rather than their actual name, and many dungeons undoubtedly will have multiple authors with separate e-mails.

Good suggestion. I will do so prior to the editor release.
