i did. did I not need to?

I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do with the assets pack, i thought i needed it in my mod assets to use whatever it adds to the editor.

If that's not the case... how do I get the assets out of my mod assets folder in the least painful way without breaking it hopelessly?

did you create any costum things ?, costume materials (textures) costum models etc etc, or are you just using the vanilla objects from LOG ?

you created your costum assets under the mod_assets folder ? right (you did not place them into mod_assets\assets )

If the assets folder is just intact inside the mod_assets and you did not place anything into it, you should be able to remove it.
To be safe, simply rename the assets folder to assets_xx or something, then start up the editor and test your dungeon, if everything is OK, feel free to move the assets folder to another location making your export alot smaller.

If stuff breaks, simply rename assets_xx back to assets - and this tells you something, that you have referenced something inside mod_assets\assets and that makes things more complicated since you will need to move your costum things under mod_assets and change the reference in material.lua , object.lua, wall_sets.lua etc etc to point to the new location to be able move the assets pack out.
