Dual boot WinXP and Win7

Post by danger24c »

I'm trying to use the dungeon editor on a computer with dual boot Windows XP and Windows 7. Windows XP is installed on its own HD (call it HD1), and Windows 7 is installed on its own HD (call it HD2). I have a 3rd HD (call it HD3) that i use for bulk files that can be accessed from either OS. Is there a way to save the dungeon editor files to HD3 so that i can access and edit those files from either OS?

Just wanted to clarify that from Windows 7, i'm able to load and export files to and from HD3. The issue is when trying to load files when using Windows XP. The Grimrock editor does not see HD3 which prevents me from loading files from that location. This seems to be a permissions issue, but i don't know how to correct it.

You can have the dungeon editor project files in any location you want. You can select the location when creating a new project in the dungeon editor or, if you have old projects, you can move or copy the folders anywhere and it should work.

Only the exported dungeons need to be in a specific place so that the game finds them when listing the mods in the custom dungeon dialog.

Ah, I didn't realize that, thanks! Now I can keep my projects in my Dropbox folder and they're always backed up and safe and I can easily use multiple computers to work on them! :D :D :D

All that was needed to solve the problem was a good nights sleep :P

I failed to notice the dropdown menu when trying to browse my computer from within the editor. Everything works fine now. I'm happily able to load and save files to and from HD3 with both WinXP and Win7.
