Community suggestions for LoG video series

Hello my fellow dungeon crawlers,

Please let me introduce myself, my name is Leland and I am a big fan of dungeon crawls (as I am sure most of you are), and Grimrock is one of my favourite ways to have fun. Two friends and I have recently begun a website/youtube channel called The Mini Map. We have a podcast, as well as game specific video series.

But why does this matter? When we were deciding on potential video series I could not think of a game I wanted to do more than the Legend of Grimrock. Most specifically, I would like to dedicate videos to a brief overview and exploration of user-created content. I would love to be able to showcase some of the amazing community created dungeons and hopefully share this great game with people all over the internet.

What I need from you are some suggestions as to which dungeons/mods you would like me to take a look at. I am in a wonderful position to create community-centered content, and I want to do the things you guys want to see. So what would you like me to look at?

If you have a mod/dungeon, I would love to hear from you directly. Please feel free to contact me at minimapleland@gmail.com, or reply to this thread and we can talk. I will make it my mission to showcase any mod an author would be willing to suggest to me, and I would love to be able to include some information you can provide me about your inspirations, accomplishments, goals, etc.

So, if this is of interest to you, I would love to hear from you guys.

If you are curious as to what these videos might be (kind of, sort of) like, please check out our other content.

I know they're not out yet, and it might be a few more weeks the first one is, but I reckon the Community built dungeons made by a bunch of creators, like this one, would be great to dissect in a podcast / video. Especially as the one linked will have how to's and the like coming down the line.

I recently broke my version of FRAPS, so anything I have the Nexus, feel free to showcase anything I've put up on the Nexus.

Neikun: Try Bandicam. FRAPS is all corporate and not nearly as good as Bandicam.

I've always liked FRAPS for many year, but I'll try this Bandicam. I'm dubious about it's compression on the fly somehow taking less resources than FRAPS (backwards to normal logic, since the whole point of FRAPS making large vid file sizes was to be fast by avoiding processing too much compression in the moment) but I'll test it and see how it works

Thanks for the offer, you may very well be the first content we look at. :D
I will be sure to contact you and let you know what I will be looking at, in case you wanted to say anything about it.

I would like that.
If you could ask me questions about my work--it might work out better. I'm good at answering questions, but not so much at describing things "free-hand" (often distracted)

If you want, you can showcase my dungeon Hypercube, which was the winner of the first community created dungeon contest.

If you want to talk to me directly, your best bet is to add me on Steam, my name there is RussischerZar.

Apart from that I heard the two dungeons from the second contest were very good as well, haven't had the time to play them yet though.

Welcome to the forums! What a great idea. Anything that creates awareness of new content to casual players is a terrific thing.

Like John suggested, the "One Room" Round Robin would be great to add, as it features twenty different LoG designers working on one project (each have their own room). There will be a suprise involved with this project announced once it nears release, and a second round is already being planned.

HaunterV and Edsploration are heading up a Community Frankendungeon that will have many designers adding their own levels to one massive mod, with a tentative Christmas release.

I haven't played it yet, but I'd love to see a spoiler-free review of Mahric's Wine Merchant's Basement. People seem to really like it.

cromcrom's The Lost Continent is a huge mod that offers new skills and crafting, is now expanding with "Book Two," and is certainly deserving of more attention.

And, shameless plug aside, hopefully you'll take a peek at my own mod, "The Hub" when it's released. It also features several custom assets created by the LoG community, as well as a few from myself.

[EDIT: You also might want to look at Post Your Mods.]
