Servers will burn at release time... ?

I hope the servers are prepared for the heavy load that will start on 17:00 UTC. I really hope that problem was not underestimated.
I don't think the Humble Bundle company has so many servers to cover initial demand, but I hope Steam does!

Anyone have experience witch such releases? Will it be ok?

I have some advice for alleviating server over-load; allow us to start our downloads now to 'spread-it-out' so to speak. Better to trickle it out now than to choke the pipeline later in the day right?

I reckon those Steam servers will handle it at least.

In my experience, servers generally melt, not burn. =)

Every IT admins nightmare, to come to work and the server turned into slag over night

While I am super stoked to play, and I hope this game sells great, it is still an indie game. It's not a Blockbuster title that has 1 million people watching the clock to download at launch.

True but is the stand alone version bought direct being downloaded from GOG or Almost Human direct? They probably aren't used to that many downloads in one go.

Like I say the Steam download will certainly be fine.

Daniel.

Humble's servers will do fine, they're used to handling ridiculous amounts of traffic.

Both GOG and Humble Bundle have had a fair share of big releases previously so I predict there won't be any problems. :)
