Grimrock

I got both brass keys for the blue crystal room, and inserted one on the left hand side, and one on the right hand side, and the door will not open so I can get in the portal.

I got the key from the bag, and the other one from the door on the right, so I have the right keys.

Please help

the key from the bag (from the cells) is one of the two keys needed to make it to the crystal in the first place, then there are two more keys, one from each side of the crystal room. Check the gamebanshee walkthrough, it's pretty comprehensive

My first time thru I inserted the first key immediately after finding it. then went off to get the second key. When the 2nd key was inserted the portculis in front of the portal (in crystal room) wouldn't open. I then wandered around the dungeons and found a (not normal) 3rd key laying in a passage.
I question whether or not I tried the 2nd key in the same lock as the first key?

Thanks for your help, any idea where that key was on the ground in a passage?

I think it was in the area to the left as you enter the room with the 3 doors and crystal. close to where it was origonally found I believe.The crowern rooms. But its been a while.

Did you also use a key in one lock then go to look for the second key ? might be a timer or something on 2 key doors.?

I inserted the first key right when I entered that roon.

I will look for a 3rd key.

Just look here if you get horribly stuck. But I'd use it only as a last resort as overcoming the game's challenges is more rewarding when you do it yourself.

Have a problem on Level 2-
I found one brass key and used it on the right lock to open the gate to the teleporter in the gemstone room.
When I found the other brass key, I used it on the right lock also.

Now, no more keys, and gate will not open.

Any suggestions or secret brass keys anywhere?

In the current version of LoG which is 1.3.7 this is not possible. Just tried it myself, the lock accepts only one key.
Which version do you run?

It sounds like you were using two different save games. Try finding the other key again.

One key is in the west side at the south end of a dirty area with crowerns

The other key is in the east side past a teleporter and a pit and a crowern
