Dungeon File Size

I'm curious how large people are making their dungeons in terms of file size. Though there have only been a few dungeons over a 100 megs so far, I was thinking with all the great custom assets lately, many dungeons to come are going to be very large.
I scrapped my original idea of having a different tileset for each level based off the nine runes of magic because it all just seemed like too much. But even two tilesets and some custom monsters is over 100 megs.
Will the steam workshop become pointless as the mods get more advanced? Is there no way to budge on their size limits? Nexus is a great site but seems to lack the same exposure outside this modding community.

the DAT file is the only file that gets put up on the workshop. so. as long as you keep all your folders clutter free and only have the necessary assets in the folder you'll be fine usually. I made the mistake of putting the entire asset library in my first mod and it made it 400 megs compressed.... needless to say i have learned since then and mad e the necessary changes.
I find the hard part is not including every asset that gets made... I have taken to collecting them though. They all reside in a folder in my AH folder.

My asset folder is clutter free. Like yours it used to be huge, though I was planning to actually use it all too. Still the dat file is over 100, it doesn't compress all that much when exported.
I agree with seeing some cool asset get posted on here and finding it hard not to want to find a use for it.

My new WIP is very big so far. It's kinda a "community thanks" dungeon with lots of references and assets.
So far I have floors 1&2 almost done and floors 3-6 just have a 3x3 with a torch and it is 160M.
Hate to know what is gonna end up at.

Just a quick thought for those of us(all of us?!) that find themselves collecting all assets upon release because we KNOW we have a use for it, somewhere, sometime. And as soon as we need it, we know we're gonna be thumbing through threads thinking "Whheeerree did I see that 2 months ago?". . .I feel it is important to create a personal system of keeping track of what belongs to whom. I rename my asset files with a prefix of the creator when I DL it. For instance "Neikun_Arcane_Ogre.zip", because if I don't, I'm gonna be thumbing through the same threads saying "Now whhooo made this thing I DL'd 2 months ago" and still have the same amount of digging to do. And not crediting the creator in your mod is just, unthinkable. If you guys are gonna put in this much effort to not just release a creation for everyone to use, but to make it AWESOME and high quality, then your name should be involved in the creation of said project. (Not that there is monetary compensation involved or anything, but the simple "Thank you" is paramount when a sense of pride and accomplishment is the only reward. You ALL deserve it.) This community is becoming so tightly knit, and in tune with each other, that we are nearly to the point of just making a generic credits thank you script listing the top 20 contributers here, for every mod! We kind of already do this with a universally agreed tag in the credits, (I have yet to find a dungeon without this line). "And a special thanx to the awesome community at Grimrock.net forums!"

That is a very good point, Blade. I know when I upload things to the nexus, my compressed file includes "by neikun" at the end of it.
