Request for Steam Cloud Integration

Post by dlwoodward »

I love this game,

bought it on Steam and learned that Steam Cloud wasn't a feature the hard way, when my computer crapped out on me and I had to reinstall the OS.

luckily i hadn't made it too far into the game yet.

Are there any plans to integrate this? I think there are several people who either play on multiple computers or would like to have an option for automatic save backups.

Please 1up if you want this feature as well.

I agree this would be cool. If you use a folder sync tool like Dropbox then you can actually use a SymLink (I think Windows calls them HardLinks) to move your save games to DropBox (cloud sync and backup for any game on your PC). You can register for Dropbox for free.

1. Register, download and install DropBox.
2. Download and install Hardlink Shell Ext.
3. Close running games.
4. Cut and Paste / Move your Almost Human folder from My Documents to somewhere in DropBox.
5. Right click on the Almost Human folder in DropBox and select 'Pick Link Source'
6. Go back to your My Documents folder (where 'Almost Human' should be), right click in Explorer and select 'Drop As -> Hardlink'.
7. Do this on all your PCs if you want to sync on multiple PCs. I've done my entire 'My Games' folder, so this works for many games.

Make sure you get the paths right! I'm sure there must be a guide on the net about doing this if the above doesn't make sense :)

Yes I'm familiar with using hard links, I've used them before.

But nothing beats the simpleness and ease of Steam Cloud.

I sincerely hope the developers build this into the game.
