Help with a gate on level 8: The Vault

this one get me
it's not important and I can easily go around... BUT - I had it open once, and I see from the maps on some of the spoilers other people have it open too.... but I can't remember how I did it, and I've wasted lots of time trying to get it again
if any one can help me out I'd be really grateful

Sorry, you never had it open, that gate is is not a door but a wall grating that is just permanent bars through which you can reach the map to the secret button/area on level 7 which leads to the stairs to the main section of level 8

no kidding! I thought for
sure.....
I'll show you why I thought this, some of the maps I've seen don't have the thick line there like mine does... but like I said I can easily go around
just one of those things where you need to do it simply cause it's there LOL

still, I'm very grateful for the help! This explains why I couldn't get it

The previous version of Grimrock v1.14 (before the editor release) worked a little different, and wall gratings didn't show a line on the map, but now they do (since October v1.31 IIRC)
