Poisonbolt greater bug? Affects characters level above

Hey guys. So I'm building my dungeon, and playtesting, etc. Everything's going great. Killing herders is like plucking daisies and all my scripts are working. Then I go into a room I've made on the 4th floor, and I start randomly getting poisoned.
What the heck?
Of course, I check level 3 and level 5, and sure enough I have poison_bolt_greater traps a level below.
Now the natural solution is to initially disable the poisonbolt traps until the player encounters them and disables the traps again themselves (which is probably a better system anyway). That's simple enough. But my question is, why do spells affect characters through levels? This should be fixed, no?
