Will anyone actually play my dungeon?

Post by Soseies »

I'm really eager to try out the editor for the first time, but I don't have any friends who play the game.
Is it hard to find people who would play my custom dungeon and actually give some feedback?

Thanks!

Hi Soseies, the community here on the forums is very friendly and enjoy providing feedback on mods that have reached 'beta' stage. They will help you along the way with any dungeon building / scripting problems you have too.

My main advice is just to make sure that your dungeon is almost ready when you make a forum post asking for a few testers testers - people will likely not want to test it multiple times and will enjoy testing a 'finished except for bugs' mod more than a half finished and broken one. Oh, if you test a few other people's dungeons along the way then the good karma will generally come back around!

And on that note... Welcome to the forums! Hope you enjoy modding, it's a lot of fun!

That's good to hear Soseies! If you're new to modding in general, check out the getting started section on the front page of GrimWiki: http://grimwiki.net/wiki/Main_Page

It links to a bunch of excellen video tutorials by Komag and SpiderFighter as well as some other articles and scripts you can copy and paste into your dungeon. The Grimrock Nexus too has loads of things you can add to your dungeon easily. :)
