Macbook 13 Retina (late 2012): I see no monsters!

Post by Khazragore »

Hi,

FIrst: Sorry for my bad english, it´s gotten a little bit rusty over the years ;).

I bought the game and installed it now on my new macbook. It has a Intel 4000 graphic-card in it and I keep the system always updated.

The first odd thing I occured was a black texture on the ground where I believe a platform was supposed to be. I put a stone on it and proceed, so it was not a big issue. But: After I opened a few doors with keys I hear suddenly a few attack-noises and my chars are being hit. When I look around I see nothing. I attacked back and see some green sparkles, after a while I see the letters "+ 60 xp" and some snake-remains. But the monsters was invisibe all the time, what makes the game pretty much unplayable for me.

I have tested all the graphic-options from low to medium always the same.

Is this a known bug or is there a solution I don´t know? I googled it and unfortunately I didn´t found anything.

I hope you can help me & thanks in advance!

Skinned objects not being rendered correctly sounds very much like a graphics card driver issue. I have Macbook Air with Intel 4000 chipset and the game works ok with Rendering Quality set to Low, so I assume you have a different driver or OS X version.

Since you have the latest system updates, unfortunately the only "solution" I can think of right now is to wait for Apple to fix the drivers... :/ The good thing is that this breaks rendering so much that other games are bound to have similar problems, so Apple will notice the problem quickly, I hope.

Sorry for not being able to provide you a better fix.

First let me thank you for the quik answer!

Hm, so then I will Look after newer drivers, but I fear that Apple will not act that quikly... Let's Hope for the best ;)

You can look for older ones too. It's better than giving up if you don't find stable newer ones.

Well, today I downloaded a new update, unfortunately the problems still exists, tested also a few render options (high/low)... I believe that it is not possible install new/older drivers for the intel 4000 on a macbook, especially when it has a retina display... everything is working tight together I think, but not sure... I will wait & see.
