Do you think that Almost Human will include more reach weapons in the sequel? In the original there was only the legionary spear and it got weak after a while. It would be cool to use something like a trident or a pitchfork as one of your back party members primary weapon. What do you all think?

It would be nice yes. A separate reach weapons class would also come in handy.

Yeah, spears felt like the odd guy out the first time around.

If you want a weapon with a long reach, skip those wimpy tridents and go straight for halberds.

Spears or Reach weapons are outside the weapon classes player characters can learn. The only way to improve their usefullness are indirect buffs like +Strength items or a Hardstone bracelet.
Now the rogue can learn Reach Attack for all wieldable melee weapons by learning Assassination 12 and once he/she reached that point the spear will prolly be instantly replaced with a better/faster melee weapon. Note that Assassination's higher ranked special attacks Improved Backstab, Piercing Attack and Master Assassin require a dagger to work so only invest that much if your rogue uses a dagger.

Quick Strike and Improved Quick Strike work with any melee weapon (or bare hands), though. Also, their descriptions are misleading - it sounds like they increase attack speed by 25% and 50%, but they actually
decrease attack cooldown by 25% and 50%, which are 33% and 100% increases to attack speed.

I used the spear with my mage, as an alternate attack for when I didn't want him to use as much mana on spells, or if I didn't have enough.
