Importing Saves From Legend of Grimrock 1

I did a quick search and scan (keywords like "import" and "saves" yield _a lot_ of results!), so pardon me if this has been asked before.
But will we be able to import our characters (from Save Game Files) from Legend of Grimrock 1? Or will Legend of Grimrock 2 be strictly stand alone and no imports?

There is new system of skills etc so i dont think so

I'm sure Grimrock 2 is a whole new story and place, so I doubt that GR2 even use the same characters.

I knew this had been discussed before, but it was pretty hard to find - can't blame you for not finding it! As often is the case for nearly all forums - I had better results with Google over the built-in forum search.

The skill system that we have planned for log2 is radically different from log1 - we'll have a blog post about the changes when I get some time to write the post - so it's unlikely that characters can be imported. Also the scenario is not a direct sequel to the story of log1, so thematically it wouldn't work that well.

Kind of a bummer that the characters, at least, can't be imported - with skills just all reset! I am one of those people that gets attached to these guys I am trying to help survive!

The character system is quite different in LoG2, so no importing LoG1 characters. I think we could make the old portraits available somehow if you want to play with them.

Oh! That'd be cool if the old portraits could be carried over! That way I could use those and just name them the same as my current characters! (Even if the current portraits were "updated" as long as they have that same look!)

The old portraits should work as is in LoG2. We already have the good old import custom portraits in place. Maybe we could add the old portraits to the extras folder.

Are the portrait dimensions the same?
