As the other Wine thread is for running the game under Wine in Linux I thought i would open this for people to post
about running the game in a Wine wrapper under Mac OSX.
I have tried to install the GoG version in a Wine wrapper but it errors right near the end of the install.
So if anybody has got this running under Wine please post your results in this thread.

Re: Mac Wine Compatability ?
Hi,
I have LoG2 running on an MacBook Pro (~2010) using WineBottler:
http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/
I choose "advanced" and pointed the profile wizard to the grimrock pc installer exe and it installed without a problem. After it was done I just ran the resulting file and the game kicked off. Took about 2 minutes to get the game installed and running.
Nothing wierd technically as of yet, have been playing for 2 hours. Running fullscreen.
The graphic performance is really good in the dungeons but in the open environments I have to scale down and run on low graphic settings. On my pc I can't even change resolution without having the game crash, so I actually prefer running it on mac right now.

Thanks for that but no go I am afraid, it just will not install into a wrapper.MatineKungen wrote:Hi,

I have a horrid feeling this is down to the GoG installer.

Sorry about this but I tried again now Winebottler tells me Wine is not installed, I have Winary on my machine.
Can you give me a bit more assistance with bottler, I know you choose advanced, anything else I should be doing such as setting up bottler first, choosing an engine etc ?
Are you using the Gog version ?
Thanks.

Re: Mac Wine Compatability ?
Hello!
Ok, here goes: I have no previous install of wine. The download I mentioned earlier contained WineBottler and Wine. I dragged both of the programs to Applications and ran WineBottler. I bought the DRM free version of the game found on the front page of this site. In WineBottler under "Advanced" I pointed the wizard to the pc installer exe found in the grimrock2 zip-file. No further alterations of the default settings, no command line options or extra dll's. I simply clicked install and the grimrock installer ran it's course without any problems. I was asked for the virtual file path of where to install the game (c:/program files/yaddayadda...) and I went with the default. When the install was done I had a 1,45GB executable mac file.
Hope that helps.

I did all as you stated, no go it just will not install into the wrapper, my version is DRM free but I think it is the GoG installer that it uses that is causing the problems.MatineKungen wrote:Hello!
