Orul's Crypt - The Sanctuary

I've been stuck on this puzzle for a while and I'm thinking there's a trick to it or maybe I'm just not good at this type of puzzle. The sign says "When the room is void of light the door will open."

You enter from one of the bottom three arrows, need to touch each tile once and exit on the right arrows. The X marks are columns and the |_ is a grate you can't pass through. I always have one square left over. Could someone number these squares for me, or explain the trick?

I did too. I looked on every wall on both floors, tried placing and removing items (even though I knew that'd be too easy), searched other rooms that kind of bordered it (especially thanks to that path below), spent a lot of time thinking, and did a handful of attempts just running randomly to see what ended up being left.
Got some sleep (irl) and eventually got it, after being stuck at the puzzle for like 40 minutes.

I took out pen and paper for this. Was about to quit and declare it impossible until I noticed I had a slight error on the map...
