stuck in crystal mines

hello,

i've gotten most of the secrets and 1 gem from the abyss in the crystal mines. however, i'm stuck on the 2nd floor, around the pit leading down to the abyss. i can't find a way to open the doors to the north and south (with spiders behind them) - is there a secret button i'm missing, or do i need to drop down from the entrance level? i can see the gem on the entrance level but don't know how to get there.

also, is there any wway to get to the ladders on either side of the fearless puzzle corridor?

on the 2nd floor i'm also unable to opent he door with a mine key lock (i already used the mine key from the simulacrum puzzle + another one), is there a third mine key?

On level 2 there's a pressure plate hidden in the darkness, outside visual range. You must throw something there to open one of the inoperable doors. Use a spell to cast off light so you can find it. Kind of lame IMO. I thought about the possibility but then discounted it as I didn't think AH would do something like that. One of the few puzzles in the game I disliked.

Ah, thanks Ixnatifual, I was stuck there too... Actually, if you look from the other side near the door, you can see the plate and figure it out, no need to peek through the darkness.
