Daemon's Gaze

I came across this riddle in level 2 (Old Tunnels). The riddle is:
"Only a patient man can defeat Daemon's gaze."
To the right there is a statue with his mouth open, although his eyes holes are not empty so I don't think you need to find gems or something. If you turn right again there is an iron door with a picture of Mount Grimrock and a cog, and on the floor there is a pressure plate.
In one of the older posts someone suggested that resting might solve the riddle, but it didn't work for me.

Anyone has an idea of how I can open this door?

Nevermind, solved it.
The solution:

is to rest while facing the statue.

Behind the door there is a squad of 4 Legion Soldiers and behind them a reward: 3 fire bombs!

Drop a rock/torch/thing on the plate and walk away/explore elsewhere, the door will open on its own in due time, then finding the squad can be a SUPRISE

Come on you all, this is like one of the easiest riddles to solve. Al lit requires is a little common sense and just read the words. Haven’t any of you while growing up ever played the staring contest? You guys are going to be beating yourselves up once you figure it out.
