Game crash when saving
Game crash when saving
Anyone else having the game crash to desktop when manually saving or touching a crystal after about 30min of game time?
System specs..
windows 7 64b
16mb ram
7970 amd video card
i7-4820k
game does not produce error aside from a windows general exception fault. I will see what i can gather next time it happens.

Is this during general saving or saving at the crystal?
Also what version of Grimrock are you running? (Should show the version at the "Main" screen, lower left).

I take it you mean 16GB of RAM? It would be nice running Win7 on a 286 with 16 MB RAM

Intel i7 5960X
Gigabye GA-X99-Gaming 5
8 GB DDR4 (2100)
GeForce GTX 970 (Gigabyte)

Yes 16GB of ram...
i play through steam, so i think it keeps the game updated. Currently ver. 2.1.13
...
The game crashes on either attempt to save the current game, whether this is via me manually trying to save game or when clicking a crystal.
oddly though it only happens after the game has been running awhile approx 30min. .... another way i found to reproduce the error and speed up this time frame is to enter area that contain different textures quickly and often, for example dungeon --> beach --> forest --> hub --> mine ... and then attempt to save i will get a CTD...

Re: Game crash when saving
Sounds like an overheat problem to me, prolly with the RAM.remilafo wrote:oddly though it only happens after the game has been running awhile approx 30min.

@Dr.Disaster
lol nope, it is not an overheating issue. A ram overheating issue would cause a Blue screen not a CTD.
