'new spell learned'

Are these stored anywhere for reference or have I got to lug the scrolls around all the time or just remember them? If so, having 'new spell learned' seems totally pointless. I haven't found any kind of spell book on my Mage, so sorry if I've missed something.

I like the old-school magic system, but having the spells remembered somewhere for reference seems like something just as relevant as having a map on TAB.

They at least show up on his skill list where the question marks used to be, just not how to cast them.

I usually like to keep such things copied into the little notebook I keep on my desk, what ever game I am playing if I need a note I jot it down.

so far I only have 2 spells I can use so have not need to write any but if i get boggled I'll write the runes down with what it does, I know fore dungeon master I had every spell written on a sheet of paper...it is still around her somewhere :)

If you know the spell name, and you have the game manual, you can look up with each rune does, and based on the name of the spell you can figure out how to cast it. First frost spell spoiler

like if you look at Ice Spikes, it's self explanatory, you want Ice, and then Earth, because the ice is coming out of the ground in the form of spikes.
You can figure out all the spells this way.

If you want to keeep everything inside the game, you could put notes on the automap. Just don't forget which level!
