Huh? Toorum-Workaround? I ran Toorum thru the MQ .95 beta, the 1.00 and 1.01 releases and did not encounter this problem.

EDIT

I can't reproduce this bug with Toorum in MQ 1.03 either. I did
- enable the console in grimrock.cfg
- start up LoG
- select MQ (Steam-version) from custom dungeon list
- import Toorum
- start the game
- use the console to port to the start of Pillared Hallway
- walk the hallway from start to finish without a problem or any console message.

He PM'd me a couple days ago about starting an imported Toorum run, but when you import Toorum he doesn't retain his fast movement speed, only the other "Thunderstruck" attributes.

So he started a new Toorum, then upped his stats via the console to what his old Toorum had, then ran the dungeon start script again to reset the MQ scaling according to his high level Toorum. This was the "workaround", to be able to play with fast Toorum on a higher-level playthrough.

But the running the dungeon start script duplicated the pillared hallway invisible plate connections, so it always counted as a mis-step.

I've fixed it and it will go into the next update version, so if anyone wants to have a fast high-level Toorum, that's the only method I know how right now.

Aah i see, the problem was produced after/by console actions.
I wondered how my Toorum could have missed such a thing in three consecutive runs ...

That should clear the hall as though you had finished it normally. Let me know if it works.

Hi Komag,

I wrote a post yesterday directly after trying your script line but strangely it hasn´t been published.

Nevertheless, the script line does it of course! Many thanks for it! I´m already at Level 10 and trying a 100 percent run.
And now I understand the problem too. I´ve been surprised that some objects had been twice in alcoves but didn´t much think about it. I know the reason now.

In the second run I can concentrate more on the details and I must say: Absolutely fantstic what you made! I think you raised the atmosphere of some levels extremely. For example Level9: The new ambient sounds and music, the darker tileset. And the entrance to the temple! Wow! It´s great!

I thank you for many nice hours of playing your mod! And for your perfect support!
I hope you´ll do something similar in the future!

Greetings
Chris

P.S.: My little son is named "Ben" too

Oops, forgot about how that would affect some items in alcoves - it would set up the scaled elemental weapons. The only way for you to tell the difference now is to check their names with code. You could put a lightning rod in your backpack in the first slot (11) and type:

print(party:getChampion(1):getItem(11).name)

That would reveal which "rank" of weapon it is, the higher the stronger, to be useful against the scaled monsters. For example, "lightning_rod_s1" up to "lightning_rod_s5"

Thanks for the hint. But I don´t use them anyway.

My Toorum has a sword skill of 50 and the "Bracelet of Tirin". So you can stand in front of almost all enemies, hack on them in the right rythm and get no damage.

Even the "Fighters Challenge" is no problem with a "Speed Potion". You can cut your way through all the little green ones in not a minute. It´s really fun ;)

Hello! I played LoG back when it had recently come out. So a bunch of this is from memory, but I love the Master Quest additions..it makes scouring the walls a must do!

However...I am on level 4 and I have done ALL of it, including killing the lizzies and survived...(I used the blue crystal...whew...there were so MANY!)

Anyways, there are 2 pressure plates on the ground I just *cannot* figure out what to do with. I don't hear any grinding doors and when I step off I hear nothing as well. I can't put anything on them as they won't 'sink into the ground.

One if by the porticulis leading to the blue crystal, and the other is by the gear door.

Any..clues?

those are inactive now that you've done the big battle - they used to open and close the gates they are next to so you could go around, but putting the last scroll in opened them permanently.

glad to hear you're enjoying it!

So, uhm, I just killed the snail king (love the 'modifications' to him)

As for my 'concern'
SpoilerShow
I jumped down to kill him. I had health potions made up in mass, and some mana potions for my magey and I jump down. I am attacking him, using my lightning and my arrows. I ran out of arrows, and had comsumed a mana potion to keep going. I ran out of arrows (only had 15) and I grabbed the stack of 4 lightning bombs out of my bag. Well, I didn't know that by throwing them I'D THROW ALL 4 AT ONCE!

Needless to say, he exploded....uhm...

Did I overkill it, or is that an oversight?

throwing a pile of bombs is just part of the original game mechanics - I think it only counts as one but I'm actually not sure about that, maybe it counts as four.

(but did you notice that he teleported away?!) 8-) ;)
